ABOUT JOSH

Josh Malin is one of the most exciting young talents in British Motorsport, with an inspirational story of overcoming the odds to launch a racing career.
Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of four, Josh was told that he would never be able to follow a career in motorsport. Even at that young age, he did not stand by and be restricted by the condition, and he has fought hard to become the athlete he always wanted to be.
A second place finish in his first ever car race aged 16 was a sign of things to come for the Dorset racer, becoming BARC MaX5 Racing Championship Class B Champion in 2017 and then Class A Champion the following year.
After scoring six podium finishes in his debut Ginetta GT5 Challenge campaign in 2019, Josh was the leading talent on the grid in 2020. A combination of stunning raw speed and eye-catching racecraft guided him to seven wins from 14 races and a richly deserved Championship victory.
The 2021 season saw Josh fulfil a childhood ambition by returning to Richardson Racing to compete in the ultra competitive Porsche Carrera Cup GB, the supporting series for the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), and proven stepping stone in the development of young drivers. With 2 podiums and 1 fastest lap Josh secured an amazing second place in the Rookie Championship.
Having been beaten to a seat on the Porsche Carrera Cup GB grid for 2022 Josh was left to work on the 2023 season until Jack Bartholomew sustained serious injuries in a cycling accident and he was drafted in by Richardson Racing for 3 meetings (not having driven the 992 version of the car) where he achieved 2 podiums and several top 5 finishes which enabled Richardsons to secure the Team Championship.
